Department Of Horticulture
Haveri District is known for chilli area and National
Level chili marketing at Byadgi taluk It is having
suitable climatic and soil candition to grow various
horticulture corps like mango, sapota, Banana, vegetable
like chilli,Tomato,Brinjal etc and plantation crops like
coconut, betelwine and cashew flowers like Jasmine and
chrysanthemum Ranebennur, Baydgi and Hirekerur taluks
are known for vegetable seed production
Deputy Director of Horticulture is the district level
officer in zill panchayath and do not having state
secter district officer In the zilla panchayath sector
under the Deputy Dirtctor of Horticulture, senior
Assistant Director of Horticulture /Assistant Director
of Horticulture is functioning the taluka level There

In these farms, propagation of various fruits
crops is taken up and the propagated grafts/ seedlings
are utilized for implementation of various Departmental
schemes and also they are sold to public at the rates of
Department.
Yathinahalli horticulture farm at shiggaon and savanur
horticulture farm at savanur are the state sector farms
under S.A.D.H Dharwad. In these Farms propagation is
being taken up and these grafts are utilized for
implimation of various department schemes and also sold
to public at department rate.

Training every year which plays a major role in creation
awareness recent technology Horticulture in the farming
As part of research and training at improved cultivators
for in major crops are in Haveri district.
