BRIEF VIEW OF REGIONAL TRANSPORT OFFICE, HAVERI.

1. Regional Transport Office:

During 1982 this office was opened as Assistant Regional Transport Office, Haveri. Later on during 1992, it has been upgraded as Regional Transport Office.

2. Short Description of office Work:

	Registration of Motor Vehicles.
	Collection of Motor Vehicle Tax.
	Regional Transport Officer is also performing duties of Secretary, Regional Transport Authority which deals with the work of issue & renewal of permits for Transport Vehicles.
	To issue Driving Licences and Conductor Licences.
	Enforcement of provisions of Motor vehicles Act & Rules.

3. Revenue Target 2007-08 Rs.975 Lakhs:

 Government of Karnataka has fixed Revenue Target for 2007-08 Rs.975 Lakhs. Collection of Revenue till July 2007 is Rs.3,43,08,190/- i.e., 105%
4. Camps in Haveri Region:

 Regional Transport office, Haveri is conducting 6 camps in the following places of Haveri Region for the Convenience of vehicle owners & Drivers.

	Every month 5th there will be a Savanur Camp.
	Every month11 & 23rd there will be a Ranebennur Camp
	Every month 17th there will be a Byadagi Camp
	Every month 20th there will be a Hanagal Camp
	Every month 25th there will be a Hirekerur Camp
	Every month 29th there will be a Shiggaon Camp

The Inspection of vehicles for Registration, renewal of Fitness certificate, etc., and Testing of candidates for issue
of Learner’s Licence and Driving Licences will be done at the above camps.

5. Own Building Of Regional Transport Office:

Construction of own Building of Regional Transport Office of Haveri on Haveri-Hubli Road is under Progress.
